Crafting exceptional wood furniture is what Gunlocke is known for. So when CONANT ARCHITECTS redesigned the New York showroom the idea of expressing craftsmanship through design was a natural solution.
The space was designed so that when stepping out of the elevator a clear vista into the showroom could be seen. Large sheets of glass penetrated by a wood beam that serves as an anchor for a continuous custom light fixture combines the visual effects of viewing the products while experiencing the innovative use of wood for the light fixture.
A central café serves as a multi-purpose room to show various samples of wood and finishes cleverly displayed along an interchangeable wall system. A glass conference room was located nearby for privacy but open enough to showcase a custom wood conference table.
Furniture vignettes were strategically placed around the glass conference room so that a Client would have a visual connection to the overall product line.
