Short on supply and high on demand, housing in urban areas has become a precious commodity. So when 1.8 acres became available in a residential / commercial neighborhood in Carlstadt, NJ, a property development group looked to explore the opportunities of creating new housing for young professionals and small families.

By integrating the sloping site with the program CONANT ARCHITECTS proposed ninety eight housing units with structured parking below, while keeping in scale with the surroundings areas. Units ranged from 1 bedroom / 1 bath units to 2 BR / 2 ½ bath duplex units. The development included a ground public plaza, management office, and rooftop terrace for exclusive resident use.
